FL AAPIs for Progress (FLAAPP's) third annual AAPI leadership training! This year, our theme is SOAR (Start Organizing and Rise) - Flying to New Heights.

This year has presented the AAPI community, especially our young people, with uphill battles they may never have faced before. Our community's top priorities - healthcare, educational opportunities, safety for our immigrant communities, well-paying jobs and overall an affordable cost of living - seem further and further out of reach. Join our training to learn the tools to bring your own friends, family and community members out to vote this year. You'll learn:

- what to expect on this year's ballot
- what is the specific impact that young people can play in this year's election
- how to have a one-on-one organizing conversation
- ways to get involved this year

At FLAAPP, we believe that our community can get what we need if we participate and make our voices heard at the ballot box this year.

Join the Forever Welcome Foundation, First United Methodist Church of Winter Park and FLAAPP (Florida Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Progress) on September 13 in Orlando for an interactive Welcoming Week workshop.

Over a shared meal, immigrant and non-immigrant communities—with a special focus on AAPI experiences—will engage in meaningful discussions around race, identity, and belonging. The session includes a documentary screening and small group conversations with opportunities to reflect, connect, and take action. Facilitated by Sunayana Dumala, widow of hate crime victim Srinivas Kuchibhotla, the workshop also presents data on rising hate crimes and exclusionary policies in Florida, offering tools to foster more inclusive and connected communities.

Join FL AAPIs for Progress and our Central FL friends and family for a celebration of the Hindu festival, Holi. Be prepared to get messy and have fun commemorating the beginning of spring!

If this is your first time celebrating, come learn more about the significance of Holi and why we celebrate. If Holi is one of your family traditions, bring your stories and share them with our community!

We recommend you wear a white t-shirt, for the color to stand out! Come prepared with a spare t-shirt, water bottle, and towel.

Specific location details within Blue Jacket Park will be provided to registrants prior to the event.
